Dry season in northern Bolivia is prime time for a stunning selection of neotropical butterflies. This trip focuses on the rich Andean foothills and areas fringing the exceptionally diverse Madidi National Park.
Depending on flight schedules we will fly either directly into La Paz or via Santa Cruz. On arrival private transport will take us down from the high altitudes via the lush Yungas highlands and onto Coroico (1525 metres).
Ample time to explore the many rich sites in this pre-montane area.
A little lower down (c. 925 metres) and the mix of species changes as we move closer to the Amazon Basin.
Transfer to this Amazon hub with stops on the way.
Situated at 1000 metres this delightful ecolodge gives access to a range of altitudes with the chance to descend to lower elevation and more Amazonian species in Madidi National Park.
After a final morning near Sadire we will return to Rurrenabaque in the late afternoon.
